Ruby Girl Jewelry

About rubygirl jewelry

Shannon Conrad is a primarily self-taught metalsmith and enamelist living and working in Portland, Oregon. In 2006, Shannon decided to take the leap from passionate hobbyist to professional artist. With an inquisitive mind and few night classes at the local community college, her eclectic vintage-inspired style emerged and her line rubygirl was born. Since that time, she has been growing her brand and perfecting her line. In 2010, Shannon's husband Rick joined her and together they are ready to introduce their work to a wider audience.

Protecting the environment is an issue that is very important to Shannon. To that end, she is careful about the choices she makes in sourcing materials as well as the processes used to make her jewelry line. All of the sheet and wire used in her work is made up of 100% recycled silver. Recently, she discovered a local refinery and all of her casting metal is not only completely recycled, but is also 100% locally sourced. Additionally, she has chosen non-toxic, environmentally friendly alternatives for use in the studio - citric acid pickle, bio-degradable flux and lead-free enamels. Little things make a big difference!
